Specialties, qualifications and/or services offered:
Tonita is a pioneer in the canine aquatic industry. Completing a two year certification program in 2005, she became a Tellington TTouch practioner for companion animals. She was the first certified practitioner in the nation to incorporate this gentle training method into canine swim sessions. TTouch is a method to transform fear, trauma, stress and aggression into balance and relaxation in any animal. It is a way to support dogs recovering from surgery as well as aging animals. The developer of the TTouch Method, Linda Tellington Jones, recognizes Tonita's work and contributions and shares pictures of Tonita's sessions around the world in her power point presentations. What an honor that is.
Before charging a fee for her sessions, Tonita logged 2,072 hours swimming dogs, completing many case studies and working with many breeds and behavior issues. Her water work with human clients afflicted with MS has given her unique insights and feedback with encouraging results when transferred over to swim sessions with canine clients.
Being a front lines death row dog rescuer for thirty two years as well as operating a successful aquatic facility just 50 minutes from Seattle has given Tonita many opportunities for working with dogs and addressing the psychological as well as the physical benifits of customized warm water swim sessions for canines.
Tonita is available by appointment to provide your dog with an assisted swim session to increase the quality of life for your beloved canine companion. You will see her passion and dedication in each of the sessions. Experience the difference a session can make for your dog and also for you, as you watch your dog smile. She will take time to address the special needs and unique challenges of your dog.
