Located in central Florida, Rocky's Retreat Canine Health & Fitness Center offers warm water aqua therapy, massage, acupressure, aromatherapy, and Reiki for dogs and educational and fun classes for dogs and their humans. Our focus is to provide a safe, peaceful, and nurturing environment, and an enjoyable experience for both dog and owner. Our warm and inviting facility features a 10x26 indoor non-chlorinated heated pool, two treatment rooms, a large multi-purpose room for training, workshops, seminars, etc., and a large backyard where dogs can play and be dogs.
Biography / Description:
Named after her beloved golden retriever Rocky, Sherri Cappabianca founded Rocky's Retreat Canine Wellness & Healing Therapies in 2006 after completing her certification in canine massage. Afterward, her practice evolved to include Reiki, Acupressure, and Aromatherapy. She has over 1000 hours of certified training in canine aqua therapy, small animal massage and acupressure, animal aromatherapy, animal communication and canine behavior. She is a Reiki Master in the direct lineage of Usui, Hayashi, Takata, Gray, and Rosenthal. Sherri is also the author of two books on alternative care for dogs: "Healthy Dogs, Your Loving Touch: Acupressure Massage for Your Dog," and “Healthy Dogs – Soothing Massage: The Effleurage Technique Made Easy.”
Work history:
A software engineer for more than 20 years, Sherri left corporate America for good in early 2009. Until that time, she had been working part time on Rocky's Retreat, helping dogs throughout the central Florida area. Since leaving her corporate job, she has enjoyed the ability to help more dogs, and pursue her love of writing by completing two books on alternative care for dogs. She is currently working on her third book, working with dogs, and focusing on the May, 2011 opening of Rocky's Retreat Canine Health & Fitness Center.
